Upside Down World is an online exhibition of surreal paintings by Shoili Kanungo (2019). Made in pen and ink and water colour, the delicate line work is in contrast to the explosion of figures in a chaotic world. By channelling the artist’s personal and political experiences and perspectives, the paintings reflect universal experiences, enabling multiple unique reading of the painting.
