As part of the month long InCube Art Residency hosted by the Foundation for Indian Contemporary Art, I began with my field notes from the city of Johannesburg, which I had visited in 2019. The library space at FICA, conversations with fellow inhabitants, and access to a variety of new material, led to new ways of seeing and doing. At the end of the month, the residents had an open studio day where I presented my work.
